Omar Abdel-Wahab, MD Title of Presentation: Dr. Omar Abdel-Wahab is an Associate Member in the Human Oncology and Pathogenesis Program, an Attending Physician on the Leukemia Service in the Department of Medicine at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK), and the Director of the Center for Hematologic Malignancies at MSK. His research focuses on understanding the functional implications of somatic mutations found in patients with hematopoietic malignancies with the hopes of improving our understanding of disease biology and develop novel therapies. His research is supported by the National Cancer Institute, National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institutes, the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, the Dept. of Defense, the American Society of Hematology (ASH), and numerous additional philanthropic organizations (including the Histiocytosis Association and Erdheim-Chester Disease Global Alliance). Dr. Abdel-Wahab's work has been recognized by a 2017 ASCI Seldin Smith Award for Pioneering Research, the 2016 Joanne Levy Memorial Award for Outstanding Achievement from ASH, and a 2016 Pershing Square Sohn Cancer Research Alliance Award. | Scott Weiss, MD, MSCE, FCCM Title of Presentation:
